Funny Spanish Subtitled Video: Bush’s “Message” to Castro

Well, it seems that Spanish subtitled videos are very welcome (thanks for your comments!), so I think I should make them more frequently.

So, here you are a new one. Short but funny. It is a gag from the Andreu Buenafuente’s Spanish TV show. Here I propose you an exercise: First, turn off the sound and try to read aloud the subtitles. Then turn it on and check if your pronunciation is correct. You may want to bear in mind that Buenafuente has Spaniard accent (more precisely, Catalan accent).

Words and Phrases

  • Hablando de ~: Speaking of ~ (Just the same as in English).
  • Móviles (Teléfonos móviles): Cell Phones, Mobile phones.
  • ~ de lujo: Luxury ~.
  • Mi hermano: Brother, bro. Here Buenafuente fakes a Cuban accent :D
  • Vámonos pa casa: Let’s go home. Pa is a colloquial shortening of “para”.
  • Yanqui: Yankee.
  • A ver: Let’s see.

Llevo estudiando espanol por casi tres anos en la india. Pero me parece muy dificil mejorar mi expresion oral, mientras la expresion escrita me parece ms facil. Me ha ayuda mucho este sitio que muestra los videos con subtitulos. Espero que continue este trabajo tan bueno.
